Today I felt like leaving my comfort zone, which is painting of environments. After watching the last tutorial from Dianae, I really had the urge to do a character painting on my own. Here's the link to her da-site: [link] In case Diane passes by: "Merci beaucoup!!"
The image was entirely painted in Photoshop CS2 (yes, ... I'm still on it) and the original size measures 3565 x 2148. I might consider submitting it as print depending on the feedback ...
Make sure to view the image in full-size! Comments and critiques are very welcome! Thanks for viewing,
Dan
Update: I've corrected some issues I've found in her face and also the overall color correction, since my monitor at home has a weird gamma setting. Still not sure, if it's working ...
You probably won't agree with me, but i find your portrait more interesting than Dianae's. This portrait has a nice mix of grit and fantasy, if that makes any sense. Good work.
Looks great, the hair is amazing. For crit: There's something just a bit off with the face that I wish I could place but I can't, so that's all I can say there... Other than that, well, the eye colour is weird but I suppose it's purposely unrealistic?

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant. It's without any hesitation that we are delighted to award the Deviousness Award for July 2009 to `RushyRead More
