Artist's Comments

Hi there,

I once tried to project paintings on 3D-geometries.
Since Cinema 4D 8.5 supports camera-projection, it's fun to use
this feature.

I've created an alien environment, which I want to use for a
"camera-pullback-animation".
The block model was modelled in a couple of minutes with Cinema 4D.

Here's the blcokmodel I started off: [link]

As you see, at the first I've chosen some warm colors.
Later I replaced them with colder ones.

It would be interesting to know, what you think
about this way starting off a painting.
Feel free for critics and comments.

Thanks for viewing,

Daniel

Phew... amazing! I do think that the 3D modelling works and gives a visual depth to your work that the previous piece did not quite achieve. While I think the colour work in the previous piece was more intricate and vibrant, here you do achieve a lot of effect with texture. I also think that cold and blue work with the movement in the background, and the hints of life in the main picture. I think a brower colour would work, but more in the context of a isolated and dead dessert. The action and lively feeling built into the image wouldn't work in the alternative colour.
Very good! Like the way the moon has been blended into the background! Keep it up!

so much detail... this is a piece one could look at for hours and just imagine the life and what's going on inside the painting.
