I had the idea to create a mattepainting, while I looked thru some egyptian holiday photos of my friend. Like you see I've mixed up some stuff, various pyramids, obelisks, figures, etc. found via google and some digital photos of my friend.

This time I wanted to achieve the lighting of dawn, showing the contrast between the coolness of night and the warm feeling of the beginning sunset.

I've used Painter 8 and Photoshop 7 on a Wacom Intuos2 A4 board. Finally I'll project the matte on a 3D geometry for an animation . . .

That's just wonderful!
I love the feeling, the colours really show how the weather must be like :nod: It seems very pleasant out.
Also, the blimp thingy and the torch down in the pyramid are teh awesome little details that I so love :heart:

Interesting scenery. Like the right left corner the most. I would blur out or do something about the white line around the pyramid... and also the top of the pyramid is highlighted with a spot of day light while the shadows are mostly deep blue. I would make it a little bit of blue also... other then these two things, it looks pretty awesome.

i've been to egypt once and was able to see the different signs included in this piece of art. a very good technique to create these graphics. congratulations!
