Puh, ... I had no time for personal works lately.
A short break today resulted in to that mattepainting you see here.
I'll use it as projection matte in a 3d-animation I'm currently working on.
Since I only need the bottom part of the planet, I don't create the whole planet in 3d XD ...

5 hours Photoshop CS. My Wacom as usual ;)
No Photoreferences used (ok, .. I've used a moon texture found via google for the moons)

I like the different composition in this one. Most of the time the viewer is looking down on something, but this time we're looking up. I like that alot in this piece. Good work :)

I like how you can see the constillations reflected up in the larger planet. Wonderful composition. :)

the big planet at the top is truly amazing! the clouds, the signs of sivilization are making this very real!
(off course the rest is pretty awsome as well ;) )
