here's a 3D environment matte, which I finished up lately.
The hexagonal stone formations and the watersurface are entirely done with Cinema 4D, the clouds and birds are painted with Corel Painter. Some colour tweakings I've realised in Photoshop.
I was not sure about the lighting, but finally I've chosen a warm afternoon sun.
Hope you like it . . .
I'd be happy about some constructive critics and helpful comments!
gesamtstimmung großartig.
mir ist aufgefallen das bei diesem starken lichteinfall aber doch mehr auf dem wasser reflektiert werden müsste.
oder ist hier ein kleiner denkfehler meinerseits ?
greez from german.
ps so eine winterstimmung kann nur aus österreich kommen. ;o)

this is a lovely 3D work, nice use of lighting, and texture, especially on the stones with the broken tops. The way the background of water and sky has been fused together is a nice touch too. Was this inspired by Giant's Causeway?
very pleasent vista that youve captured here. i really enjoy feeling like im standing on a stone in this. the stones look so wonderful. like they may be cool when it's hot outside. such an air of ancient mystery to the scene. where did you get the idea for this perspective and composition? very original work. it'd make a great wallpaper.
I am just astounded by your work and your talent. I had to put you on dev watch.
I love the feel of this one. All the shapes, its so smooth and curvy and it feels like Im standing out on this obscure island in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by all this cool, crisp granite....I love it.
